Searching for a home:
Not so long ago the search for a home relied much more on the Realtor because they controlled access the MLS. The MLS or Multiple Listing Service is a repository for all the homes that are listed with all licensed Real Estate Offices. The MLS still retains control but with the internet the general public now has access to much of the property information through Realtor.com and other similar websites. This is great for the person that really likes to be hands on in the search. Realtors do still maintain a few day time advantage in the MLS over consumers as well as a little more debth of information but the internet websites have really become a fantastic tool for consumers. Finding homes really afterall is a small part of the service provided by a Realtor. You don’t need an Attorney to find the Courthouse… It’s having excellent representation that is key to a succesful outcome.
Your Realtor (Buyer Agent) still has an edge so as much as you may enjoy looking at homes online don’t overlook their services and this way you will be sure not to miss the right home.
What about Short Sales, Foreclosures and HUD homes? You will find most of these listed in the MLS as well!
Can my Buyer Agent show me any house? YES!! Absoulutley… It doesn’t matter what companies sign is in the lawn your Buyer Agent can show you them all.
We might look at New Construction? Your Buyer Agent can also represent you in a new construction sale.
